GAR Foundation is one of the largest private foundations in Summit County, and a long-time supporter of organizations in the region focused on one of the following strategic priorities:
Grant Consideration
Primary consideration for grants is given to organizations in Summit County. Adjoining counties (Cuyahoga, Medina, Portage, Stark and Wayne) are given secondary consideration.
GAR Foundation grants are made at the discretion of its distribution committee, acting within established guidelines and applicable laws. Grants are awarded occasionally outside the above primary areas.
GAR does not award grants to individuals. Grants are only made to organizations that have been recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or tax-exempt organizations with an appropriate fiscal sponsor and adequate accounting procedures.
